Shane Daniel Byrne

Shane Daniel Byrne is an Irish writer, actor, and award-winning stand-up comedian known for his witty, sharp humor. In 2023, he debuted his comedy hour But He's Gay, which had sold-out runs at both the Edinburgh and Dublin Fringe Festivals. He’s set to embark on his first national tour in 2024, including shows at Vicar Street.


Byrne has headlined major comedy clubs across Ireland and performed at prominent festivals such as The Cat Laughs, Vodafone Comedy Festival, and Electric Picnic. He has also opened for renowned comedians like David O'Doherty and Kiri Pritchard-McClean.


In addition to stand-up, Shane has been featured on various TV shows, including LOL: Last One Laughing Ireland on Amazon Prime and Love Bites on RTÉ. He regularly appears on The Six O’ Clock Show and is a co-host on the Young Guys Podcast.


Byrne is also known for hosting major events, including the Dublin Pride Stage and co-hosting the Irish Times Theatre Awards in 2022. His comedic style has made him a beloved figure in Irish comedy, with David O'Doherty calling him "my favorite new Irish comedian."
