Robert Shrimsley

Robert Shrimsley is the UK chief political commentator and UK editor-at-large at the Financial Times. He writes a regular column on British politics and contributes to the FT Weekend magazine.


Over his extensive career with the FT, Shrimsley has held several senior editorial roles, including chief political correspondent, news editor, managing editor of FT.com, and editorial director. His work is known for providing insightful commentary on the UK’s political landscape. He also frequently participates in panels and speaking engagements on politics and satire at events like our very own Kilkenomics and the Dalkey Book Festival​.
