Kiron Sarkar
Kiron Sarkar is a qualified UK accountant. Kiron joined the M&A team at N.M. Rothschild in London in the late 70s, working on UK and international M&A and financing transactions for major companies. Subsequently, he was appointed head of M&A for Rothschild Hong Kong, with responsibility for numerous countries in the region. On his return to the UK, Kiron was a founding member of the Rothschild International Privatisation team and subsequently head of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), both rated number one globally over the vast majority of years. He was asked by the UK Government's Foreign Office to advise the senior most politicians and officials in CEE on economic, banking, privatisation, regulatory and general policy advice for some four years. Subsequently, he was appointed European Head of Media, Technology, and Telecoms for CIBC World Markets. Kiron has been involved, as a lead adviser, on well over US$150bn of M&A, financings, and privatisation transactions worldwide. More recently, Kiron has been writing a newsletter on global macro issues, in particular as they impact markets worldwide.
